ASUS U45Jc-A1: Decent Laptop Computer

Posted on December 20th, 2010 in Laptop news | No Comments »

The ASUS U45Jc-A1 is a 14 inch screen, 4.8 pound thin laptop computer that is very easy to carry in backpacks, totes or briefcases for users that are on the go. Nowadays, most computer users enjoy having a lightweight laptop to carry when they leave home. This is especially true for students, professionals and gamers who are often away from home but do not want to be disconnected from their computer activities—whether those activities be for work or play. In this highly charged technology dependent society, laptops are a very popular and widely used accessory.

In appearance, the ASUS U45Jc-A1 has an attractive bushed aluminum surface that is appealing to many. However, during tests and trials, several people found that this computer felt cheap—giving too much when pressed closed. That being said, there have not been any durability issues with the ASUS U45Jc-A1. This laptop appears to be of a decent sort, providing most users with the basics they would like to see in a computer for mostly on the go times. Gamers will find it is not specifically engineered for gaming while writers and students will find the ASUS U45Jc-A1 suitable for writing and completing homework without any trouble at all. ASUS has the U45′s eight-cell battery – battery life of less than six hours, it lasted 8 hours 4 minutes.

The screen display on the ASUS U45Jc-A1 would be considered average. Not the worst, but not the best, either. Testers who watched movies on this laptop said they were actually surprised at how the angles were visible and did not have issues with the screen display other than to say it was about average overall. In comparison with other laptops in its class, the ASUS U45Jc-A1 fit right in, no better and no worse in terms of screen resolution. The same could be said for the audio quality in this laptop. The sound was called ‘decent’ and had no reports of serious distortion or faintness.

While this laptop was reported to run just a bit warmer in terms of temperature than most others in its class, it still did not heat up dramatically. The webcam on the ASUS U45Jc-A1 is a low resolution webcam but does the job well enough in most cases. A fun perk is the included facial recognition software that can be set up to use in lieu of typical password log in processes. While there are many ways this laptop could be better, it is also good enough in many ways as well.
